This is my debut single "Back To Zero". In this song I drew inspiration from starting from scratch as a musician, after a 20 year break. I had to (re)learn all my music making tools with a completely new set of hardware and software... knowing I was barely equipped for the task. This song is the first step on that journey.

It felt like stumbling into a dark place without firm ground to stand on. I felt hopelessly outclassed, lacking essential skills and knowing I had a long long climb ahead of me. That uncertainty is intimidating, and to counter it I initially tried to use shortcuts and tricks in my creative process. Of course, that went nowhere. However, as soon as I embraced the darkness of not knowing, and allowed myself to float in this space, I could feel the creative potential in the nothingness. I knew I needed to trust that void, and when I did, things started to flow again.

For me, Back To Zero is about lifting yourself up from the ground, standing up again, and coming back to life. This moment of resurrection holds many qualities. It is dark yet energetic, gritty but uplifting. I hope that it inspires you to take action in the face of danger, and that it challenges you to take a moment of reflection in the face of chaos.
